Growth in the midst of destruction
The dancers of Candoco and Axis witnessed a profound truth: "Completeness is not the absence of flaws, but the establishment of a new connection in the midst of fragmentation. Strength is not the absence of vulnerability, but the growth of new resilience in the face of vulnerability."
Imperfection can also be perfection
The limitations of the body do not imply a lack of expression; rather, they might signify a deeper level of expression. In Pinna's tears, in Butler's vulnerability, and in every dance performed within those "imperfect bodies", what we witness is not merely art, but rather a more mature, more honest, and more emotionally charged form of art and a way of human existence.
